Traditional-Modern Blend
Capsule Collection
Through a celebration of biculturalism, this capsule collection serves to speak to the fusion of traditional Mexican garments and contemporary American trends, creating a harmonious dialogue between heritage and modernity. Each piece in this capsule collection is a visual testament to the beauty that emerges when cultural influences intertwine, inviting individuals to embrace a style that transcends borders and bridges the gap between tradition and the ever-evolving world. Exploring biculturalism, I aim to showcase the evolving narrative of cultural expression, where the richness of both Mexican and American influences converges in a vibrant and stylish tapestry.
Research & Development
I was intentional about the chosen fabric and designs used as I wanted to draw reference to Mexican iconography. I did this by repeating floral, heart, and moon appliques. I was inspired by traditional Tehuana headdresses that are made from a huipil with lace.

Look Two
Traditional Garments worn by Indigenous women from Mexico are heavily decorated with designs woven into the fabric with embroidery, lace, and ribbons.
